The Freemasons Grand Charity
A message from the President of Grand Charity:
“Every year, The Freemasons’ Grand Charity gives millions of pounds to charitable causes across the country. Its activities encompass support for Masons and their dependants who are experiencing hardship, grants to hundreds of non-Masonic charities, including emergency relief operations, and it has a unique responsibility to assist the other central Masonic charities when the need arises.
None of this work would be possible were it not for the generosity of individual Masons and their families. Legacy gifts are an important part of our funding and help The Grand Charity not only to continue but also to extend the reach of its work. This enables Freemasonry to contribute positively to the wider community and brings many more people, particularly non-Masons, into contact with the charitable principles that are at the very core of Freemasonry.
I hope you will consider making a legacy gift to The Freemasons’ Grand Charity. Every gift we receive helps us to continue our work helping Masons and non-Masons and we invite you to join us in delivering that support.”
Why is legacy income so important to The Freemasons’ Grand Charity?
In a typical year, The Freemasons’ Grand Charity:
-
Assists nearly 2,000 Masons and their dependants who are experiencing hardship
-
Supports the work of more than 300 non-Masonic charities, working for the wider community, with grants of anything up to £1.25m
-
Helps fund emergency disaster relief efforts in the UK and overseas
-
Contributes towards the running costs of more than 200 Hospice services
Legacy gifts make an important contribution to the breadth of The Grand Charity’s work, allowing us to offer support when we would otherwise have been unable to respond. Even a modest sum can make an immeasurable difference to the charities and people assisted.
